Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry
Our Mission:
We are dedicated to providing food, compassion, and hope to our neighbors and children in need.
EYFP began in 1983 out of a walk-in closet in the Yorkfield Presbyterian Church. Concerned church members sought to provide food assistance to struggling neighbors in the area. At that time, the pantry was able to serve about 25 families per week. As demand increased, so did the need for a new food pantry.
Our church has been collecting and donating non perishable items to food pantry over 10 years.

What is Compassion International?
Compassion International is a Christian child development ministry dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. They care for vulnerable children with programs delivered through local churches in their communities. By hearing the gospel , receiving medical checkups, nutritional support and other critical care, children are empowered to overcome poverty and help others do the same.
How does Compassion work?
Through child sponsorship, Compassion equips over 8000 local churches in 29 countries to know, love and protect vulnerable children living in their communities.
With the support of these churches and loving sponsors, they provide for each child’s right-now and long term needs, from medical care to education.
As their needs are met, children are empowered to escape poverty and become changemakers, transforming their families, communities and nations.
Our church has been sponsoring children from Compassion International since 2018.
